Playdate - Santa!

Kapolei Library will be having Santa visit on Wednesday, December 17th at 6:30pm.  There is usually a story time, craft project and free pictures with Santa.  Call 693-7050 for more information.

December Mom's Night Out!

Mom's Night Out this month is at Plantation Home Decor in Kapolei.  Please join us for a fun night of shopping, eating and wine drinking on Friday, December 18th at 7:30pm.

The store is closing down just for us that night, so please make sure to RSVP to Sarah (sarahhoey@strollerstrides.net) if you are planning to attend.  We need to have at least 10 people in order to have this MNO.  Bring a friend!  They do not have to be a Stroller Strides member to attend.

December Playgroup - Cookie Decorating!

Our Playgroup organizer, Ashleigh, has planned a great playgroup this month:

Let's welcome the holidays by letting the kids decorate Christmas cookies!

Cookie decorating will take place at CORP, right after class (you need not attend class to participate in playgroup).  Ashleigh will be bringing the cookies, frosting, sprinkles and plastic spoons for decorating.  Please bring a ziplock bag for your children so that they can take their cookies home if they don't eat them right away.

Don't forget your chairs and/or blanket for sitting!

Did you know...

Saturdays are family day?  So ladies, pack up your kids AND your significant others (and older kids) and drag them down to Waipio(CORP) on Saturday mornings at 9am for a great workout.  Jill's husband, Bryant, always makes an appearance on the days that she is instructing, so men, you can be assured that you will not be the only one there.  And, they can see how hard we all work!  I will be dragging, oops...bringing...Noa whenever he is in town.  It is a lot of fun and definitely mixes up the workout.

Hi!  My name is Betsy.  I have been going to Stroller Strides in Kapolei since October 2008.  I love it.  My husband is in the Air Force, and we have been here for about 6 months now.  I have two children, Taylor, 3 years old, and Chet, 16 months.  What I hope to get out of Stroller Strides is weight loss and overall improved fitness.  I hope to "buckle down" after the 1st of January when my husband will be deployed for 6 months.  It's my chance to focus and meet my goals.  I look forward to getting to know all of you better!"

Blog "how-tos"

There seems to be a little confusion to the way this blog works, so let me explain :)

The blog, like most websites, is strictly informational.  So, it acts as "read-only."  The only interactive part is the comments on the posts (at the bottom of each post there is an underlined comments, click here and a there will be a pop up box where you can type and save your comment).

In order to protect the content and integrity of the blog, there is an administrator (me) that logs in to write the posts.  SO, if you would like to share anything, or have a topic idea, please email the blog at strollerstrideshawaii@gmail.com, and I will get it up!

Coffee Day (on the Owner!)

Our monthly coffee day is this Friday, December 12th at McDonald's, near Schofield, at 1:30pm.  

"McDonald's??" you may ask?  Well, it was suggested by some of the moms to have coffee day there since there is a playground, and it is kid-friendly. This seems a good choice rather than destroying the Starbucks or Seattle's Best, and making it a not-so-relaxing coffee break for the mommies!  So, come and join us for some good coffee (it actually is good!), but we definitely don't advocate the food :)!

To find this McDonald's, go on Hwy 99 (Kamehameha Hwy) towards Schofield Barracks and it will be on the right side of the road.  Look for the Playground!

"Hi!  My name is Ashleigh.  I am the new Ocean Pointe/Kapolei Play Group Organizer.  I have 3 kids, Isiah who will be 6 in January, Carmelita (aka Carmie) who just turned 2 in September and Isaac who will be 10 months old on December 3rd.

I have been married to the Military, oops, I mean my husband for almost 7 years.  We have lived in Hawaii for not quite 3 years and love it here.  We are hoping to stay a little longer.  I am really enjoying being a part of Stroller Strides (and if you can't tell, my daughter is too =) ), and can't wait to meet a lot more of you.  We currently work out in OP and on Fridays join in on the fun that you Kapolei girls are having.  I apologize ahead of time.  I do not have a lot of photos of myself right now, but am on the left side in this photo.  The beautiful woman next to me is my sister-in-law =)."

Play Group at the Beach!

Tomorrow (Wed, 12/3) is a beach day after class.  Meet at 10:30 at Ko Olina, Lagoon 3 near the restrooms for some swimming, play in the sand and great conversation with other mommies.

Beach days are every Wednesday this month (except Christmas and New Year's Eves).  Same time, same place!

*you don't have to go to class to join us at the beach!

"Home" for the Holidays?

If you will be traveling off-island during the holidays, you may be able to pro-rate your Stroller Strides membership fees.  So, you would not have to pay for the entire month if you will be gone for part of it.

This offer only applies if you will be leaving the island, not just if you don't want to come to class :).
