~MNO, Black Eyed Peas, Saturday August 15
~Meet at Wet and Wild after class, Monday August 24
~There will be a playgroup for the children after every Friday class.

An update from Sarah

I received an email from Sarah this morning, ans she has asked me to share this with all of our members, and post to the blog:

Sarah has just learned that she is required to make an urgent trip back to Canada for her passport renewal, as per immigration. She has also learned the sad news that her Grandmother has passed away this morning, making the trip to Canada even more immediate.

Sarah shares that she and Sophia are quite stressed right now, and will be traveling a lot for the month of August. Per her request to Joni, she will not be on the schedule for August, and will be limited in September. They plan to de-stress in September. When they return home, she and Sophia plan to take classes, and enjoy their "family of friends" again in Hawaii. She says to think of them as they are about to embark upon a huge journey, from Hawaii to Canada to Singapore.

Sarah, I'm sure everyone shares my deepest condolences to you during this sad time, and all of our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Safe journeys!!

A Swiss what? *LOCATION UPDATE*

 What is a Swiss ball?

Swiss balls are large, heavy-duty inflatable balls with a diameter of 45 to 75 cm (18 to 30 inches). The Swiss ball is also known by a number of different names, including exercise ball, gym ball, Pilate's ball, sports ball, fit or fitness ball, stability ball, therapy ball, yoga ball, balance ball, body ball, or birth ball.

Class this Friday, July 31st, will be held at the regular location, KAPOLEI, at 8:15am (it was scheduled for White Plains Beach, but there has been a scheduling conflict, so will be at Kapolei).

If you have a swiss/exercise/gym/pilates/sports, etc. ball, please bring to class.  If you don't, we will be sharing.  See you at the beach!

New Member Spotlight - Susan

"Hello, my name is Susan and I have 2 high energy boys named Declan (5.5) and Darian (3). We moved to Hawaii about 2 years ago to start our own granite business.  We are super excited to join Stroller Strides after years and years of being gym rats. We are all pleasantly surprised at how tough and challenging stroller strides is physically. Even Declan said "mommy, I don't want to go to stroller strides, it's too hard," as he was riding his scooter beside me one class.  We are enjoying being outside and getting to know the great ladies and their keiki at class.  Thank you all for being so warm and welcoming to us.  Looking forward to the next class (if I can walk that is...Ha Ha)."

The transition is complete!

the "official" handing over of the paperwork

~The final transition for the SS Leeward change of ownership is complete, so all checks this month should be made payable to "Joni Stimpson," and for all membership payments going forward.

~Credit card payments will go through slightly later than normal this month, and you will see a charge to Keep Fit rather than SFH.

~All questions regarding membership, vacations, classes, schedules, etc. should be directed to Joni from this point on.  Joni can be reached at joni@strollerstrides.net

Leis for Joni to celebrate the new ownership of Stroller Strides Leeward Oahu.  Congratulations Joni!!!

An exciting workout at CORP

While at CORP a couple of weeks ago, we were surprised to see the City & County of Honolulu Fire Department helicopter land in the big soccer field we were working out in.  The helicopter landed, picked up some men, took off and hovered as the fireman practiced repelling out of it.  Needless to say with the noise, wind and kids going crazy (and us moms too), it was a bit distracting for a little while.  Luckily, I had my camera with me to capture the event.  It was very exciting!
